JUBILÄUMSKALENDER 2026: ICMA

Now in the fifth year of our partnership, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts is proud and honored to work with Landesakademie Ochsenhausen on the International Chamber Music Academy. Bringing together our highly gifted students and faculty with exceptional colleagues from Germany and throughout the world each summer has created many friendships, broadened perspectives, and changed lives. While only 10 days long, our annual chamber music academy is a concentrated period filled with rehearsals, lessons, coachings, and concerts. In a beautiful and historic setting, the Academy provides a unique environment for students to immerse themselves fully in chamber music, free from the usual distractions of academic life. The opportunity to study under internationally renowned faculty and collaborate with peers from diverse cultural and musical traditions has proven invaluable, inspiring students to approach music-making with greater creativity, sensitivity, and understanding. Participants not only deepen their technical and artistic skills but also gain a rare glimpse into the broader international music community, experiencing firsthand the different interpretive traditions and pedagogical approaches that shape the global classical music landscape. It is a chance to build networks, develop friendships and create musical collaborations that may lead to professional opportunities that alter a student’s career path. We are also proud of the exceptional concerts we have been able to share with the Ochsenhausen community. None of these special outcomes would have been possible without the support and partnership with the Landesakademie staff and leadership. Their warm hospitality has made this collaboration seamless and rewarding, ensuring that both students and faculty feel supported and inspired throughout their stay. The School of Music at UNCSA hopes to collaborate with Landesakademie for many years to come, so that our endeavors continue to grow and flourish.
