was born in Kiel, Germany
He was educated by the prestigious Hans-D.Klaus in Detmold and joined the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in 1993.
As Principal clarinet player he is working regularly with all renowned conductors.
He played chamber music with musicians such as Lars Vogt, Mitsuko Uchida and Leipziger Streichquartett.
Stefan Schilling has been teaching at University for Music and Dramatic Arts Graz/Austria since 1997.
His students hold positions in orchestras and universities in Europe and abroad.
